Taking the Measurements

(It only takes a few minutes!)
Should you be buying a leather garment sight unseen?

Measuring Chart
Measure carefully!

Red SuitUsing a tape measure (in inches or centimeters), take careful measurements. It's best to have someone help you with the measuring because it's difficult to stand straight while you are measuring inseam, or girth of torso, etc. It will only take a few minutes to take all the measurements, especially with help, although there are some 30 of them on our detailed chart, to make sure you get a good fit. Some customers take our chart to their tailor or seamstress who does the measuring and fills it out. DO measure carefully. If we find something in your chart that does not seem to make sense or is inconsistent with other measurements, we will check with you before proceeding to cut and sew something that might not be right for you. We think that with these procedures we have pretty well taken the risk out of buying a leather garment sight unseen!

With each order we send out we include a stamped return envelope and a slip on which we ask for your reactions: "How are we doing?" We are so far quite pleased with the results of this poll.

Tight or loose fit? It can be snug, but we would discourage an absolute skin-tight fit unless you don't care about ease of movement. And indeed, some like it tight! But it's perhaps best to remember that leather is not lycra or spandex. It will look wonderful even with some allowance for ease of movement.

Some of our customers want our suits for outerwear, just as you'd wear a jacket or windbreaker. There is a box to check on the measuring chart about whether it is to be worn over other clothes or not. But again, the measurements you ask for are what we will deliver.

We have quite a few years experience making and fitting these unique garments, and our style certainly seems to have caught the eye of Europeans, and now more and more in America.

Our style is whatever you want to make of it. We are at your service as custom leather tailors to the world. "What suits you suits us!"
