Style Yasmine

We have years of experience as specialist leather jumpsuit makers. We don’t do jackets and pants, which are available everywhere—we subscribe to the idea of “Do one thing and do it well.”

We have two basic styles, with much latitude for variation. The original double-zipped torso style (“Yasmine”) is shown in most of the photos on this site, e.g. the woman in front of the cream-colored car on the first page, and the photo shown here, which features a stylish trenchcoat type of batwing flap over the back of the shoulders.

Style Kitty

The simplified suit or economy model (“Kitty”) is shown to the right. This style comes without epaulettes, has a single centered front zipper, and you supply your own belt. We can make it with or without belt loops, and the batwing flap is optional, although it has the advantage of adding some flexibility of movement, because we use a light ventilated elastic panel under it.

Men’s sizes and styles? Yes, certainly. Originally conceived as a women’s style (the majority of our customers are women), we can certainly adapt our patterns and sizes for men. It seems to be our men customers who want the thermal linings.

These garments are surprisingly light and comfortable, for a full leather suit, and generally need no lining because the inside is soft natural suede. We can add, however, a permanent fleece lining for winter wear, using various thermal products such as thinsulate^®. We know of customers who want the garment as outerwear over a nylon snowsuit! Most of our customers of course want the suits cut slimmer and not to be worn over other clothes, and not with thermal lining, but just for the great fashion look, which somehow combines contemporary with aviation retro.

You may have seen our suit photos in fashion editor articles in the Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, the Long Island NEWSDAY, New Jersey’s STAR LEDGER, the Gannett chain of New York suburban county papers, as well as some European papers; circulation totaling in the millions. Reprints are available upon request.

In 1998-99, we were carried in the nationwide Catalog of Catalog offerings put out by Publisher Inquiry Services of Boca Raton, Florida.
